Book Signing – Mildred’s A Mommy by Sherwin Linton

Nest to Threads Boutique Marketplace, a co-retailing haven in Coon Rapids, Minnesota is proud to announce the release of “Mildred’s A Mommy,” a delightful new children’s book by Midwest country music legend Sherwin Linton.

Lisa Clemons, owner of Nest to Threads Boutique Marketplace never dreamed that the mallard duck who nested in the flower planter outside her business would inspire this enchanting tale that will warm hearts of readers young and old.

Pam Linton, Sherwin’s wife and owner of Cotton Patch Boutique one of the retailers housed within Nest To Threads affectionately named the female mallard “Mildred.” Sherwin Linton, known for his storytelling prowess both on and off the stage, chronicled Mildred’s journey as she prepared to welcome her ducklings. Encouraged by a Kansas fan, Gail Sams Lanning, Sherwin turned his notes into a captivating children’s manuscript.

Bringing the story to life was a local collaboration. Longtime Twin Cities artist and Sherwin and Pam’s Pleasure Creek neighbor Jonny Borgen created the whimsical characters of Mildred, her partner Maynard and their thirteen ducklings. Jonny’s vibrant, full-color illustrations perfectly capture the charm and spirit of this touching tale.

“Mildred’s A Mommy” is inspired by a true story with a timeless message about love and family,” says Linton. “It’s a joy to share this piece of our community with children everywhere.”

The thirty-six-page book, suited for ages 2-12, will be available on Amazon beginning November 29, 2024. To celebrate the release, a special book reading and signing will be held at Nest To Threads Boutique Marketplace located at 3033 Coon Rapids Blvd – Coon Rapids, MN on December 7th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
